Cupping Treatment

Cupping Treatment Services

Cupping is a therapy which uses suction within cups to ‘open’ muscle tissue and energetic pathways of the body, thus promoting circulation, relieving pain, and detoxing the body and mind. At Pain Free we use traditional Fire Cupping, Wet Cupping and pump style cups which are all safe ways to increase the interstitial space between muscle tissue. Using cups over various areas of the body helps to relieve pain, stress and heal the body by improving blood flow and promoting cell repair. This practice dates back over 2,000 years but has received recent attention in the media due to its use by world-class athletes for injury relief.

Used to treat:

  • Muscle tension
  • Stress of muscular and emotional systems
  • Back/shoulder/neck pain
  • Sciatica
  • Fatigue
  • Anxiety
  • Sleep issues
  • Allergies
  • Cellulite

What are cup markings?

What many people don’t know is that the cup markings are not bruises. A bruise is a result of a blunt-force trauma and damaged issue. The markings that may result from cupping techniques are the contrary. It is a decompression motion that initiates the lift of stuck tissues. This motion “un-earths” old blood, injuries and stress points. The discolorations are an indication that harmful pathogens and toxins have successfully been drawn out of the area. Cup marks can range from light pink to dark purple and these visible toxins are eaten up by the body’s immune cells and fade within 1 to 7 days. Most people feel immediate improvement of pain and tension in the area cupped.

Cupping Hydrates Your Fascia?

Fascia is a connective tissue located under the skin’s deepest layer. Fascia surrounds and runs through muscle and is continuous from the top of the head to the toes. The water and collagen matrix of fascia tissue provides glide to our muscles as we move. When an injury, pain, tension, wrinkles or cellulite is present, it is an indication that fascia is in a dehydrated state. Fascia becomes dehydrated due to overuse, underuse and inflammation.

Cupping therapies bring hydration back into the fascia thus leaving your body with less tension, aches and pain. Often, clients feel more “spacious” in their body when receiving cupping therapy. Better range of motion and more freedom through the spine is also often reported and demonstrated post cupping.
